Handtufted
woolen carpets for hotels
Hotels
uses handtufted carpets, mainly in 80% wool and 20% nylon, for putting
at various places which mainly covers rooms and lobby.
We
will discuss today about handtufted rugs to be used in hotel rooms.
These rugs or carpets are placed in the rooms with some designs. If you see the
designs are most of the time contemporary, and mainly in wool. To enhance the
look sometimes art silk is also being used.
Made
in different qualities and different pile heights (in mm), these are also made
in all sizes. In some cases the hotels uses these rugs as bed liners, in some
cases they cover the whole floor area with the carpets, so that the floor is
not visible at all.

The
quality of handtufted carpets are determined by the yarn being used per square
meter or say per square yard. These are also calculated in oz per sq yard.
There is direct proportion of weight per sq yard with the pile height. In many
cases 8-10mm pile height is moderate and quality 2500 gms per sq mtrs and above
is the quality one need for making startup quality of handtufted carpets/rugs.
It
also depends upon the quality of wool being used whether new Zealand or mix
of newzealand with Indian wool…prices varies a lot, so as per the budget
allocated these moves.
